For Today
Outside my window . . . it is still 67 degrees at 8:00PM. There are occasional flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder in the distance. I can hear the Spring Peepers peeping away down at the creek. I noticed earlier today that the lettuce is just starting to come up in the garden.
I am thinking . . . that each day around here is different and that keeps life interesting. There are no "typical" days here at Walnut Acre.
I am thankful . . . for a weekend full of blessings. Spending time with my family, going to see the movie Courageous (it's a wonderful, funny, thought provoking movie), fresh baked bread, time with friends, practicing for the Easter play at church, Mint plants that CJ brought me.
In the kitchen . . . Amanda made a Chef's Salad for dinner this evening.
I am going . . . I'm home for the day now, but earlier today I went to an IEP meeting that lasted for two hours to determine that we need to have another meeting to determine if there is eligibility to have another meeting to change the IEP. Did that make sense to you? Yeah, me either. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I also took Michael to his physical therapy appointment and ran a few errands.

I am wondering . . . what the family that came to talk to us over the weekend about babysitting their three kids part time will decide. I'm really fine with it either way, I'm just not good at waiting patiently for an answer.
I am reading . . . Life Matters: Creating a dynamic balance of work, family, time, & money by A. Roger Merrill and Rebecca Merrill. This is one of those books that I go back to from time to time and read again.
I am hoping . . . to make some Dandelion Bread later this week. The kids look at my like I'm a little crazy when I go outside and check to see how many dandelions are growing in the yard, or when they hear me say "Don't pick the dandelions, I want those!" Hopefully they'll like the results of my little experiment.
I am looking forward to . . . participating in the Easter skit we began practicing at church yesterday. We will be performing this skit twice Easter Sunday. Once at the sunrise service and then again during the main service. I have an easy part, I am one of the crowd at the foot of the cross.
We are learning . . . about faith!
Around the house . . . all is quiet. The dishwasher is running, Doug, CJ and Michael are asleep, Austin, Amanda and I are using our laptops.
I am pondering . . . Hope.
A favorite quote for today . . . I could prove God statistically. Take the human body alone - the chances that all the functions of an individual would just happen is a statistical monstrosity. ~George Gallup
A peak into my day . . . I know I've put a lot of pictures on recently of the kids on our almost daily rambles, but I love seeing them having so much fun out exploring nature.
