It is never to late to have a happy childhood. ~ Tom Robbins
And He said: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. ~ Matthew 18:3
Truly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, will never enter it. ~ Mark 10:15
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His Name's sake. ~ 1 John 2:12
Numerous times in the Bible we are told the importance of becoming like a little child.
How are we to be like little children? Children have a simple faith in those who care for them and love them that allows them to take what is told them and believe it without question. When Mommy or Daddy says things will be okay the mind of a troubled child is set at ease. A child trusts that he/she will be fed, sheltered, protected and loved.
Of course, we do live in a fallen world and there are those times when children are not loved and protected as they should be. Children who have had to live through this kind of mistreatment have a hard time trusting again.
But God, the Father, reaches out to each of us, no matter what our childhoods were like and says that He will be our perfect Father if we will let Him. If we will accept the Gift He has given us through His Son Jesus we will be His adopted sons and daughters. And then we can, maybe for the first time, live as trusting children, knowing that we have One much wiser than ourselves looking after our every need.
