It's been a good weekend, although very busy.
Both Friday and Saturday evening Doug grilled - Friday evening it was hamburgers and Saturday evening it was steaks.
Austin was in actually supposed to be in charge of dinner Friday evening but Doug decided to teach him how to use the grill. Somehow they ended up with a blast of flame that singed Doug's eyebrows, eyelashes and mustache - and Austin decided he didn't need to know how to use the grill. So Doug ended up grilling hamburgers himself. I was just glad neither of them were hurt.
Saturday was full of the usual Saturday things - Doug took the some of the older kids and Michael and went grocery shopping, did some paperwork and some work around the house. I caught up on laundry and finished most of the preparation for next weeks activities with the kids.
This morning we took all the kids and went to church. We had three teens, five preschoolers and one baby to take with us this morning.
After church we went to the park for a picnic lunch and then played on the playground for a while.
This evening is Doug's regular shift as a volunteer EMT at our local rescue squad. His shift is from 5:45 - 9:30 on Sunday nights. Michael and two other kids who came in for overnight childcare are asleep and Austin and Amanda are quietly doing their own activities.
I'm contentedly tired and looking forward to a week of warmer weather and sunshine.
