The Tale of Peter Rabbit

The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter was one of my favorite books when I was kid. I loved the story and the Peter Rabbit coloring book that I had. Reading this story with the kids this week was as fun for me (maybe more) as it was for the kids.

I found a lot fun activities to go with book at Making Learning Fun. I'm thinking I will be using this site a lot in the future, there are a lot of fun activities to go with a variety of themes here.

On Monday the kids used to Do-A Dot markers with these pictures of Peter Rabbit and his three sisters.

Wednesday we colored rabbit coloring pages and designed Peter Rabbit's coat with construction paper buttons and pockets.

I didn't get any pictures but Thursday we played the Feed the Rabbit Game. I think this will be a game we will be playing a lot more in the future. It was simple but fun.

I had some activities planned for today but the overnight kids slept late and the early kids came in, went back to sleep and also slept late. So we skipped Circle and Craft Time this morning and went directly outside after breakfast. As fun as these activities are I think getting in the outdoor free play is just as or maybe more important.

  2. Love the Peter Rabbit jacket! We rowed Peter Rabbit a little while ago and that would have been a perfect go-along. I need to check out that site more ~ thanks for mentioning it. =)

  3. We might have to try that. We have like eight different versions of the Peter Rabbit story because I subconsciously keep searching for the one I grew up with. Turns out my daughter loves the story and would probably love this!

  9. I know I have said it before, but I will say it again: I love it how all the kids sit around the table and ALL get stuck in together. I always find your photos so adorable and heartwarming... and lovely to explore Ps and Peter Rabbit! Always popular with the wee ones!

  10. Wonderful! This is a favorite story of mine as well. I must share it with my girls again soon. I read it long ago & I doubt they recall it well so it would be perfect to reintroduce them to it now.

I love making learning fun too - they have great ideas there!

Thanks so much for sharing on the Sunday Showcase & hope to see you again today!
