Morning Musing Over Coffee - Where I Can Be Me and You Can Be You

As I begin a new day I find myself thinking of two quotes I read last night. They are both from the book Cure for the Common Life by Max Lucado.
And here they are.
1. God never called you to be anyone other than you.
2. If you aren't you we don't get you. The world misses out.
3. You play no small part, because there is no small part to be played.
Wow!
This is so freeing to me. I am not the way I am by accident. I am created to be me and me alone. Not who or what someone else wants me to be. Not even who I think I should be compared to those around me. I am simply meant to be uniquely me. In fact, it is important that I embrace the person that God has made to be because this is where I am most effective for Him and most fulfilled as a person.
And this allows me to go into my day with a freedom and joy that cannot be found when I am trying to be a person I'm not meant to be.

  1. This was really good for me to read. I married into a family that doesn't really seem to like who I am and so I need to constantly remind myself that God made me and it's okay to be me. Thanks for sharing!

There is so much freedom in allowing ourselves to be who we truly are.

  4. Wonderful post! I am in the same boat as Miller Moments.

#2 really speaks to me. If I "allow" certain people to "bend" me into what they think I should be, I am not being true to the genuine me that my true family and friends deserve!

Thanks so much for this post!

    I definitely needed the reminder!

  6. Wow, that is freeing. I so often sell "me" short and remind myself that the God of the Universe made me with care and does not appreciate me trashing me.

  8. Don't we all need to hear that every once in a while when life gets away with us and we start to forget who it is we see in the mirror each morning!? What a great reminder to stumble on through Ann's link up. Blessings on ya!

  10. When I read Don and Katie Fortune's "Discover Your Spiritual Gift" books - and Chapman's 5 Love Languages - well, they enabled me to look at myself and see beautiful gifts - not weeds that needed to be pulled out - and then I glimpsed how God saw me. Since then I have so loved being me:)

To Miller above - I so understand how you feel sometimes. It is so important to find those companions God has for you to build you up and support you. They are there!
