David and Goliath

The Bible story the kids and I are reading this week at circle time is David and Goliath. Along with the story we are singing the song Only a Boy Named David.

Today we did a few crafts to go with the story. First we colored the tracing/coloring pages of Goliath.

Then we did their favorite craft of the morning - David puppets.

Later in the morning, I put these little David and Goliath minibooks out for the kids to color if they wanted to. Michael wasn't interested but Lauren and Khristian both wanted to color one.

  1. Thanks for following on my blog! I homeschool my 11-year-old son. It's the best decision I've made and my biggest regret is that I waited so long to do it! Thanks again for stopping by my blog--I'm now a follower on GFC and Facebook.

  2. adorable craft and your timing is right on! did you know that King David was born and passed away on the Jewish holiday of Shavuos? (Wednesday in Israel, plus Thursday everywhere else) Because of this we try to set aside extra time on the holiday to say the whole book of Tehillim (psalms) if possible. All the best and thanks for sharing on Craft Schooling sunday!

  3. As always - totally adorable how your kids craft and work together - your eldest is a lovely boy!

Love the crafts too - very sweet!!

Thank you for linking up to Kids Get Crafty!!! Always a pleasure to have you stop by!

  4. Here is a song that Jewish children sing about King David..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLA5zqNg-Ag

It means David is King of Israel and will live forever

David melech yisrael chi chi vikayam

The pictures are of modern Israel but its the same land David rules over, minus the modern city of Tel Aviv of course.
