It's only 8:30 and already it is hot and humid. Humid more than hot. And gnats may be tiny little things but Wow! can they ever be a pain. We usually spend an hour outside first thing in the morning and I'm not sure this morning if we're going to make it for the full hour.
Anyway, enough whining about the bugs and the heat and humidity. It looks like today is going to be pretty busy. There are seven kids here already and another coming later. We have a lot of fun planned, mostly inside. Playdough, stories, singing, lots of creative imaginary play, drawing.
Later this evening, after it cools down a little, we will be coming out to work in the garden, weeding and watering the plants.
And since these gnats are driving me crazy I looked online for some natural insect repellents. Here are few that I found.
Have a good day everyone. We're off to have some fun.
Inside!
Everyone talks about how hot it is where they are and all we have is rain. I am hoping it will at least stop raining and warm up a bit. :) I love my mornings and afternoons on the porch. Fortunately, we don't have to deal with gnats. Wasps and ants though. The coffee in that picture really makes me want some!
ReplyDeleteOur weather in Chicago went from two days of nearly 100 degrees to 58 today. I prefer the cooler weather. But no bugs.

My mom swore by brut cologne she said if she put some of it on the gnats wouldn't come near her. Weird!
