Saturdays Are For - Planting Flowers and Eating Ice Cream

Yesterday we went to Lowe's and bought planters and plants for our front porch. This morning I could hardly wait to get them planted.

We bought Impatiens for the flower planters since the front porch only gets morning sun and even that is filtered by the trees in the front yard.

I love the way K looks like she is supervising Doug while he's planting flowers and taking her job very seriously.

We also bought two ferns in hanging baskets.

I think K likes Doug's green hair-do here.

The plants make the front porch so much more of a welcoming place. I think we're going to get four more ferns to hang up. And once the flowers grow out some it will be much prettier. But I like it now too.

The kids loved helping with this project and as a reward for all their hard work we took them out for ice cream.

And while eating ice cream they enjoyed looking at these model airplanes hanging from the ceiling.

And apparently all the supervising, laughing and eating ice cream wore K completely out. This is how I found her later this evening.
