The Walnut Acre Daily - Blackberry Picking and Buying Seeds

Walking With the King
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance. ~ Psalm 33:12

On Our Nature Walk
Our nature walk this morning was a blackberry picking adventure. Doug and Austin even joined us. This is our first picking and it was so much fun!

We got enough for a meal and they were so good! Much better than the store bought ones. There are going to be a lot more ripening soon and I'm hoping to put some in the freezer this summer.

In the Garden
I bought lots of seeds today to start a second round of gardening. I'm getting a later start then I would have liked but I'm going to go ahead and plant and see how it goes.

In the Kitchen
We had baked potatoes with cheese and bacon, fresh blackberries  and homemade bread for lunch. For dinner we had tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Out and About
It's been a quiet 4th here for us. Michael doesn't handle the fireworks well at all, the noise really really bothers him so we don't usually go so them. So the only place we went to today was to ACE to get a few things.

Other Notes and News
I enjoyed a visit from a friend this evening. We had a nice little chat, catching up on each other's kids and other things going on in our lives.

Most of the day it was just too hot to be outside so Michael and CJ built tents in the playroom.

Amanda, Austin and I watched some fireworks in our neighborhood this evening.

I hope everyone is having a fun and safe holiday.
