Morning Musing Over Coffee - A Light From Within

credit: Michelle Meiklejohn

People are like stain-glassed windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
~ Elisabeth Kubler Ross

There are people who seem to shine and sparkle almost blindingly until a dark cloud passes over their life and then the shine and sparkle suddenly fades to nothing. It is then we realize the sparkle was merely a reflection of an outside source.

Then there are those who, when the clouds blow in, continue to shine and sparkle. In fact, it is then it becomes apparent the shine and sparkle is accompanied by a warm glow that warms everyone nearby, because the light is coming from an inside source.

That inside source continues to shine regardless of the outside circumstances. It is light independent of the changable outside world. It is the light of one in close relationship with the Creator who can be counted on to strengthen and care for His beloved creation.

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on it's standand it gives light everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven. Matthew 5:13-16
