Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit. ~ Peter Ustinov
What a beautiful description of love!
True love does not keep a record of wrongs, but looks past them to the real person behind the behavior. This does not mean that true love turns one into a doormat. It is not loving to allow another person to misuse anyone, including oneself, because that is harmful to all involved. But true love does address the issue and then move on, remembering that everyone has faults, makes mistakes and is guilty of hurting others at times. In short, true love honors the fact that each of us is made and loved by God and that He will help us to love each other if we ask Him too.
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
