Morning Musing Over Coffee - Pondering the Infinite and Hard Work

If everybody ponders the infinite instead of fixing the drains, many of us will die of cholera. ~ John Rich

When I first read this quote I laughed. But I was also struck with the truth of it. Why do we often place such a high value on the thinker of big thoughts and forget that there is true honor in performing the tasks that require physical labor, sweat and dirt. They are both equally valuable. And sometimes the most brilliant ideas and truths present themselves in the middle of hard dirty work.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.
Ecclesiastes 9:10

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
Colossians 3:23
