Morning Musing Over Coffee - Be Ye Holy

But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." ~ 1 Peter 1:15, 16

This call to be holy is for each of us. Thinking of this, I felt a little overwhelmed. There are many days I certainly do not feel very holy. I feel frail, weak and flawed, but not holy. But the reality is God calls me to be holy, not in my own strength, but through Jesus. It is not my job to make myself holy, but to allow Him to do His work in me. If I allow Him, He gently cleans, mends and strengthens me, filling me with Him - His love, His strength, His perfection. And since I am His child, He sees me as perfect, He sees the person He created me to be, not the person I see myself as.

So today, I am choosing to "walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7, knowing He loves me and is making me into the person He wants me to be, no matter how I feel at the moment.

Yesterday at choir practice we sang the song Be Ye Holy and as we sang I could feel such a beautiful sense of His presence. So today I wanted to share a version of this song that I found with you.
