The Walnut Acre Daily - A Little Catching Up

Words to Live By

John 6:35

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

We Are Learning

We watched short math, phonics and Bible videos, did worksheets and coloring sheets, and started our Jesse Tree. Actually it ended up being Jesse trees because I didn't have one big enough.

Austin and Amanda finished the Allergies study they were working on and today they started a Health/Nutrition unit. We've been reading more from Heart of a Lion by Gilbert Morris and also read chapters 7 and 8 of Proverbs.

Books We Enjoyed Today

In the Kitchen

We kept the kitchen work simple the last few days - chicken nuggets, hot dogs, pizza, fries,  leftovers, cereal, etc.

Weekend Catch Up

It turned out to be a busy weekend. Doug's family got together for a late lunch on Saturday. I met a lot of the family I had never met before and we had a good time.

I had coupons for Cici's Pizza so we took the kids out for pizza.

Amanda found pizza that incorporated her two favorite foods - pizza and macaroni and cheese. I took a picture of it because I thought is was funny to mix the two. So she took a picture of my food to prove I was eating a lot. I'll admit I was. We don't go out to eat very often and when we do I take full advantage of it.

We also had Sunday School and Worship Service Sunday morning and I had choir practice Sunday afternoon. Michael went with me to choir practice.

Monday morning we did a our big monthly grocery shopping. Monday evening I had a meeting at church and CJ went with me. It was a meeting that included dinner and he liked that. Doug took Austin and Michael to their Scout meetings.

We Are Going

This afternoon Amanda and I went to the SPCA so she could work with the animals. Today she chose to spend her time with the cats.

  1. The white kitty is so beautiful. I couldn't help but laugh about the Cici's Pizza thing. We ate there years back when in Florida with my hubby's family. I remember the Mac n cheese pizza. Seems odd to me. I was talking about that pizza with my oldest the other day. Funny. I also had to laugh about those pictures we capture at the times when mouths are full and faces are pointed in odd directions. :)
