The Simple Woman's Daybook - Thursday March 29, 2012

For Today

Outside my window . . . It has been a beautiful day today. At the moment it is 64 degrees and I can hear the birds singing outside.

I am thinking . . . that although I am tired, it is a contented tired, the kind of tired that comes from a day spent working at what I love.

I am thankful . . . for days like today.

In the kitchen . . . today was a Dandelion kind of day. I made Dandelion Bread and also cooked dandelion greens with potatoes, onions and sausage for dinner.

I am creating . . . I started another braided rug today. The first one was so much fun to make I just had to do another.

I am going . . . a ran a few errands this morning and the rest of the day I've been happily at home.

I am reading . . . so many interesting blogs.

I am looking forward to . . . the weekend. It looks like it's going to be a fairly quiet one.

I am learning . . . so much about ways to use the resources right in front of me.

Around the house . . . I'm sitting with CJ while he falls asleep, Doug has gone to bed early, Austin, Amanda and Michael are at there grandparents house for the evening.

A favorite quote for today . . . Grace isn't a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It's a way to live. ~Attributed to Jacqueline Winspear

A peek into my day . . . I know some of you really aren't going to like this, but here is a picture of the snake we saw today while we were out on our morning walk.

  1. You must have an awful lot of dandelions in your yard. I can't believe how many you are picking and eating. So, how did it taste for supper. I have heard it is edible. I am all for knowing what around you is edible.
