Menu Plan Monday




Our breakfasts and lunches are pretty simple. We usually have hard boiled eggs,cereal, juice and fruit for breakfast. For lunch we have sandwiches, frozen pizzas, burritos, leftovers or something else simple and quick with a veggie and/or fruit on the side. But I try to make our dinners a little more filling and interesting. 

MONDAY - Chicken and Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Green Beans, Cranberry Salad (These are the last of the leftovers my sister sent home with me from Thanksgiving dinner)

TUESDAY - Sausage Stuffed Squash, Mandarin Oranges, Brownies

WEDNESDAY - Dinner at Church

THURSDAY - Ground Turkey and Rice Casserole (to take along to my sisters for dinner)

FRIDAY - Vegetable Ham Soup, Canned Pears, Potato Bread (making soup from a batch of soup/casserole/stew base I made and froze last week)

Menu Plan Monday - May 3 - 9, 2015






Our breakfasts are typically cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and/or juice and Amanda fixes simple lunches during the week so this menu is mostly dinners.

This week is a little different for us because we're going to be in and out of town. 

Sunday - At the Beach

Monday - Tomato Soup, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Fruit

Tuesday - Homemade Beans and Pork over Rice, Salad, Homemade Bread

Wednesday - Dinner at Church

Thursday - Homemade Hot Pockets, Veggie Sticks, Fruit (Easy finger food for eating on the way to the beach)




Also making Baked Spaghetti and Spiced Sweet Potato Bread to take along for meals at the beach house 

Friday  - At the Beach

Sunday - Roast Chicken w/Potatoes and Carrots, Salad

Monday - Baked Spaghetti (from the freezer), Salad, Garlic Cheese Bread


Tuesday - Chicken Rice Soup (from the freezer), Apple Salad, Homemade Bread

Wednesday -Dinner at Church

Thursday - 15 Bean Soup (making extra to share with my sister and family and also to freeze), Spiced Sweet Potato Bread, Fresh Fruit


Friday - Salad, Pineapple 

Saturday - Bacon Swiss Breakfast Pizza, Fresh Fruit

Salad, Fruit (Main Dish From my Sister)

Oven Scrambled Bacon and Eggs, Apple Muffins, Fried Potatoes, Fruit

Snack - Apples Slices, Cheese Cubes

Lunch - Going On a Bear Hunt Lunch - Grass (Thin Green Pepper Slices), Mud (Chocolate Pudding), Snow (Cottage Cheese), Forest (Sweet Potato Fries and Lettuce), Caves (Ham & Cheese Sandwiches), River (Water)

Snack - Yogurt, Crackers

Dinner -  Pizza and Wings, Lima Beans, Applesauce(Austin*)

TUESDAY 8-14
Breakfast - Oatmeal, Bananas, Milk

Snack - Raw Veggies, Milk

Lunch - Chili Macaroni (Hamburger Helper), Peas, Salad (CJ*)

Snack - Dry Cereal, Banana Chips

Dinner - Slow Cooker Beans & Bacon, Applesauce, Corn Bread

Breakfast - Bagels & Cream Cheese, Apple Slices, Milk

Snack - Grapes, Crackers

Lunch - Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches, Raw Veggies & Dip, Bananas


Dinner -  Cheeseburger Macaroni (Hamburger Helper), Corn, Salad (Amanda*)

THURSDAY - 8-16
Breakfast - Scrambled Eggs, Toast, Applesauce

Snack - Dry Cereal, Banana Chips, 

Lunch - Macaroni and Cheese, Corn, Blackberries (Austin*)


Dinner - Kidney Beans & Rice, Salad

FRIDAY - 8-17
Breakfast - Waffles, Bacon, Applesauce, Milk

Snack - Raw Veggies, Milk

Lunch -  Beef Stroganoff, Corn, Veggies and Dip(Amanda*)

Snack - Apple Slices, Cheese Cubes

Dinner -Ravioli, Broccoli & Cauliflower, Salad (CJ*)

SATURDAY 8-18
Breakfast - Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Grits, Blackberries, 

Lunch - Chef Salad

Dinner - Slow Cooker Pork Stew, Blackberries, Homemade Bread

SUNDAY 8-19
Breakfast - Sausage, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches, Bananas

Lunch - Roast Chicken, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Mixed Vegetables, Biscuits

Dinner - Sandwiches or Leftovers

* Austin, Amanda and CJ each plan, shop for and cook two meals each week.

Since we do a lot of our grocery shopping at a discount store, what is available to buy just depends on what they have that week. Most times I go in with a general idea of what I want and a list of basics - flour, sugar, coffee, etc. Then after choosing from what is available there I come home and make my menu from that. It has saved us so much money in groceries and we haven't had any major problem with the food. Sometimes the fresh fruits and vegetables have to be picked over carefully but that's the only thing I really have to watch for.

* Each week Austin, Amanda and CJ are each responsible for planning, shopping for and preparing for two meals.
