Operation Fish , Circumstantial Faith and More - The Walnut Acre Daily Friday May 15, 2015

WORDS TO LIVE BY

God, your thoughts about me are priceless.
No one can possibly add them all up.
If I could count them
18

If I coul

they would be more than the grains
of sand.

If I were to fall asleep counting and then wake up,

you would still be there with me.
Psalm 139:17-18

TODAY'S QUOTE

God loves each of us as if there's only one of us. ~ St. Augustine

IN THE KITCHEN

Not much happened in our kitchen today. Lunch was from MacDonald's since we were out and my sister brought our main dish (a sausage and rice casserole) for dinner this evening.

ANIMAL UPDATES

Amanda did what she calls "Operation Fish" this afternoon. That's when she cleans all twelve of our Betta bowls. She is very meticulous in how she does this and it took her several hours. I think we probably have the most pampered Bettas in the state!

YARD AND GARDEN

Yesterday my dad came down and plowed our gardens for us. Today he brought the disk down and disked them too. That will make it much easier to do the final tilling before we plant.

WORKING TOGETHER

This evening Doug, Austin and Michael went over to our rental house to do some yard work. Then Doug and Michael went over to a friends house to pick up a couch and chair that is headed to the dump. Doug will take it there tomorrow.

PLAYING TOGETHER

We were gone a lot today and didn't have much play time here at home but I did get this photo of my nephew and Mateah playing this afternoon.

OUT AND ABOUT

Today was errand day so we were out and about a LOT! We went to the gas station, the library, Goodwill, The pet store, Sharp Shopper, and Food Lion. We also checked out the new Aldi that just opened. I thought price wise it was comparable to Sharp Shopper but the selection was different. We will probably be going back because variety at a good price is nice.

ON MY MIND

These are notes and quotes from this video series watched during Sunday School.

Do I have circumstantial faith?
Circumstantial faith leans on my experience and is very fragile. I am not very good at interpreting circumstances and events. My timeframe isn't long enough - God may be looking at the calendar when I am looking at my watch. Joseph waited 15 years to see what God was doing and remained faithful even when it looked as if God was doing nothing.  Also, if my faith is cicumstantial the pleasures of this life can cause my faith to become inconvenient. The foundation of Christianity, the foundation of faith is not my experience or circumstance but a person.

We have a great high priest. He has gone up into heaven. He is Jesus the Son of God. So let us hold firmly to what we say we believe.
Hebrews 4:14

Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
