Recently I've been having fun playing with flannel and making playsets for the kids from it. It's fun for me to play with and the kids seem to enjoy the results.
For this flower playset I started with this flower template from DLTK. I cut the flower apart and traced the pieces onto cardboard for my pattern. Then I drew the leaves and stems and cut them out of cardboard as well. Next I printed this picture of flowers in a vase and cut out the vase, tracing it onto cardboard as well.
Now I could get to the fun part. Tracing my patterns onto felt and cutting them out. I love all the colors and the many options for color combinations.
The kids have played with this set several times now and they seem to have as much fun playing with it as I did making it. I like the way they get creative and make flowers in ways I hadn't thought of.
