One day this week Madalynn (one of the awesome kids I provide childcare for) came home from school with this beautiful book.

How Groundhog's Garden Grew tells the story of Little Groundhog and his journey from eating food from other animal's gardens to growing his own food and sharing with the other animals at an amazing feast. His is helped by squirrel who shows him everything from collecting and drying seeds in Autumn to planting and caring for them in the Spring and then the reward of harvesting his own food. The illustrations are bright and engaging and accurately portray the various aspects of gardening, plant growth and vegetable formation from seed to blossom to harvest. There is so much fun learning packed into this book that it would be an excellent addition to any child's library.
