Playdough, Craft Sticks and Wiggly Eyes

I made a new batch of playdough yesterday (recipe here). Actually this is four batches of playdough, although I mix two batches at a time. Whenever I try to do more than double the recipe I end up with an icky sticky mess. So I just made two double batches.

The part I like best about making playdough is playing with the colors. Amanda helped me with this playdough.

This morning I set it out along with craft sticks and little plastic wiggly eyes for the kids to enjoy.

I didn't realize until I was editing pictures that Tre had his eyes closed in this one. He really wanted me to take a picture of his creation though so here it is.

They spent nearly an hour being creative with this playdough. It was so much fun to watch them play and experiment and create.

  1. What a wonderful idea! I hadn't thought of using eyes with playdough. I think I might have to go out and get some!

  2. I hadn't thought about using eyes either. Tell Tre even with his eyes closed he made an amazing creature! And I loved the Porcupine too!

    LOL

Have you ever made the Koolaid Playdo or the Peanut Butter Playdo? Awesome stuff!

I'm forwarding this on to my sister. She has a daycare in her home and maybe she'll get some ideas from you.

  4. Wow! What creativity! I think I see this in my son's future. It looks like a good activity to do when it gets too hot outside, or on a rainy day. Thanks!
