Sometimes I look at all that I want to accomplish, all my dreams, and it seems like the task is so big and the road to accomplishment so long I'm not sure if I'll make it. But what am I going to do if I don't try? Giving up is not an option so . . . I continue to try to use each day in the best way possible, knowing that He who gives the dream, gives the strength to continue on. 

Sluggards do not plow in season, so at harvest time they look but find nothing.

It's interesting to me to look back at things that at the time seemed hard or awful and yet from my current perspective I can see that so much good has come from them. Sometimes I'm so caught up looking at the negative, or the "holes" in situations that I can't see the goodness that surrounds it. Other times my vision truly is limited and I have to trust that even though I can't see it, God has everything surrounded with His love and power and I can know that He is working for my good and His glory. And that is sweet. Like a donut, but so much better!

He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.

WEDNESDAY -Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop 

The Walnut Acre Daily - Spring is Back

I think Spring has decided to come back. And according to the weather forecast it's supposed to stay nice for awhile. Yay!

We were home all day so I tried something a little different for Michael today. I love our days at home but Michael doesn't so much. It just seems like he's at loose ends all day even though he has his schoolwork to do and plenty of other activities available. It's as if he just can't wrap his mind around it being OK to not go anywhere. So I wrote down a list of the things he was going to do today and we went over it together while he was eating breakfast. He insisted he didn't want to do those things! He wanted to go somewhere! But once we got started he seemed much more focused and also seemed to be enjoying what he was doing. And he enjoyed crossing things off the list as he completed them.

The barn next door came all the way down today. Michael sat outside for awhile and watched them demolish it. 

He also helped me hang up laundry this morning . . .

. . . and feed the rabbits.

Austin worked with my dad today and also took care of the animals here and cleaned out the rabbit pen. Amanda changed the water in all the Betta tanks (there are 12 of them now), made lunch and did some cleaning. When Doug came home from work this evening he worked for awhile in the garage. He's still working on a pressure washer for his cousin.

This evening Amanda, Michael and I went for a walk. We were almost home when I turned my ankle on some uneven pavement and fell. Amanda was ahead of us and didn't see me but Michael was so concerned! He "walked" me the rest of the way home, and then checked my phone over (I had dropped it and it went flying) to make sure it wasn't broken. It still hurts some but not as bad asc it did at first. It's swollen a little but not too bad.  

And those are some bits and pieces from our day.

The Walnut Acre Daily - The Great (Attempted) Robin's Egg Rescue and More

This post has a lot of pictures because we've been busy!

Yesterday after church, lunch at my dad's and naps for the little ones, we decided to go to Cyrus McCormick's Farm in Lexington. The kids always enjoy running around on the grounds, checking out the small museum and walking the short nature trail.

This morning Michael and I were at my sister's for our shared learning time. We played games, reviewed flashcards, read books and did worksheets and coloring pages. 

After that I came home for just a few minutes just to check in with Austin and Amanda, then went back to help with the kids while my sister took one her kids to a doctor's appointment. 

When she got back I came home and did some online work. 

All afternoon we were hearing loud crashes coming from the property beside us. They were tearing down this beautiful old barn. It makes me a little sad to see it go. I always enjoyed seeing it from our living room window. 

This evening Madalyn came in from playing outside with a robin's egg she had found outside on the ground. Amanda decided she should climb the tree close to where it was found to try to put it back in the nest. She and Austin both made a valient effort but couldn't get to the nest. It was too high up and far out. I did my part by standing at the bottom of the tree yelling "Don't you fall out of that tree" and taking lots of pictures! 

Doug worked in the garage this evening after work. His current project is fixing a pressure washer.
