WORDS TO LIVE BY

The sovereign Lord is my strength;
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
He enables me to tread on the heights.

TODAY'S QUOTE

If you are walking to seek, ye shall find. ~ Sommeil Liberosensa

YARD AND GARDEN

I thinned another row of turnips this morning. This afternoon my dad came down and plowed up some more garden for me. I'm so excited to have room to plant more things. Now I just have to decide exactly what I want to plant next.

WORKING, LEARNING AND PLAYING TOGETHER

Today was the first day of our new summer schedule. I didn't plan a whole lot for today because I thought the kids would have fun just being together all day and playing. And they did. They were busy call day long. We spent a lot of time outside this morning.

After lunch and quiet time we played some games, read a few books and worked in our new workbooks.

We were back outside by 2:00 this afternoon and they played hard again. We will have some planned activities throughout the summer but we'll also have lots of free time for the kids to simply be kids and enjoy playing together.

OUT AND ABOUT

This evening Doug, Austin and Michael went to see about doing some work for a friend but it turned out he wasn't home. Later Doug and Michael delivered a lawnmower that Doug fixed. Michael loves to go along on these trips and see new places and meet new people.

  1. Hey, what are the white triangular things on the trailer?

    I love the look of laundry hanging on the clothes line. It's really neat. I stopped hanging my laundry when my allergies got bad. My son has really bad allergies year round.

    1. Those triangular things are pieces of the modular home going up next to us. It's been interesting watching this house be built and we're looking forward to learning to know our new neighbors better.

  2. Having free, unstructured time to play outside was always one of my favorite things about summer! I'm glad to pass this on to my kids. It looks like yours are enjoying it, too.
