Preschool and Kindergarten Homeschool Fun

Bible

This month we have a new memory selection - Romans 8:38-39 - and a new theme song - I Am Special Song

We watched a YouTube video of the story You Are Special by Max  Lucado. 





Phonics and Reading

We did the letter B lesson from Starfall's ABCs Lets Get Ready to Read and the -en word family from Learn to Read section. We did a word sort activity with -at and -ad word family words and we watched the First 24 High Frequency Sight Word Video.



Math

We had fun with The Add and Subtract Body Part Dance. We watched it once sitting at the table and then watched it a second time and I let the kids dance to it. In the background of some of these photos you can also see Amanda preparing lunch and Austin washing the kitchen windows.


Dental Health Unit

Since February is Dental Health Month we will be doing quite a few dental health activities. Today we watched Tooth Brushing For Kids - Crawford the Cat and made this Happy Tooth Craft. Lauren decided her tooth was going to be an unhealthy tooth and colored it green and Michael and Calla decided they liked the idea and colored theirs as well. 



Storytime

In the Kitchen

I didn't have to do much in the kitchen today. Amanda made lunch  and Austin made dinner. I'm so lucky to have teenagers who like to cook and are good at it. 

Around the House

This morning I cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast, started some laundry and did some cleaning in the mudroom.

Amanda did the daily chores in the mudroom and downstairs bathroom and did some laundry.

Austin cleaned up the kitchen after lunch and after dinner, washed the kitchen, playroom and living room windows, and cleaned off the kitchen counters and cabinet fronts. 

Outdoor Fun

It's was so nice to get outside again today. Michael found some ice in the wagon and dumped it out on the ground so they could have fun sliding on it. 







We Are Going

Amanda and I went to the SPCA this afternoon. She spent a lot time playing with this very sweet Pit Bull/Terrier Mix named Jenny. She loved to chase this tennis ball but was very good about letting Amanda take it from her to throw again. And I'm pretty sure she thought she should be a lap dog.



She also spent time playing with these Chihuahuas that came to the shelter last week. Last week when we were there they were very scared but they were a lot less anxious this week. 



Just For Fun

Things Amanda  said to me today - 

"I know chocolate is good for my teeth! I just ate chocolate and my tongue squeaked on my tooth. So the chocolate made my teeth squeaky clean."

  1. I have been wondering: Is your hair short or do you wear some sort of head covering? I see in in pictures of you, but just can't figure it out. :)

    Looks like your preschool activities are filled with so much fun.
