The Walnut Acre Daily - Pallet Wood and A Doctor Appointment

Walking With the King
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Philippians 3:20

 Outdoor Fun
Doug brought a load of pallets and wood home from work today for us to use on various projects. CJ, Mykalin, Michael and I helped unload it. I took pictures more than help, although I did help with some of the heavier pieces.

After all the wood was unloaded Doug cut the pallets apart. Michael didn't like the noise but CJ and Mykalin loved helping.

Then all the wood was stacked beside the garage.

While all this was going on some of the other kids had fun jumping on the trailor . . .

. . . and coloring, with CJ and Mykalin joining them when they were finished with the wood.

Out and About
Michael had a doctor appointment today and CJ went along. This appointment was for follow up and medication prescription renewal. We saw a different doctor today because the doctor we normally see had gone home early because she was sick. We decided not to try any more stimulants for the ADHD because all three that we've already tried have made the mood swings so bad. He's staying on the Risperdal because it's working very well for regulating mood and defiance. He's also staying on the Clonidine and Melatonin to deal with the sleeping problems. As usual, our wait in the exam room was long and I kept Michael entertained (sort of) by taking pictures of him and showing them to him. He's always fascinated with the computers and I have a hard time keeping him away from them.

Stopping at McDonalds to get our lunch helped make up for the long wait though.

This evening Austin, Amanda, and Michael are with their grandparents and CJ is at a church activity so it's very quiet here. There are two other kids here but one is asleep and the other is using the computer.

  1. A few of my kids take melatonin to help them fall asleep at night. The two who are legally blind, seem to need it to fall asleep at a reasonable time.

As for meds for ADHD, have you tried Vivanse? I have been using that for Andrew and I don't see mood swings. I do notice when his meds wear off at the end of the day, but it isn't a mood swing.
