Morning Musing Over Coffee - In Which I Ponder the Day Ahead

I love the early morning quiet before all the kids wake up and the hustle and bustle of the day begins. It's a great time to sip a cup of coffee and listen to the birds sing in the tree outside the window. It's also a good time to think ahead to the days activities and to the people who will be in my life and in my home today and say a prayer for a peaceful, joyful and productive day.

I know that today is going to be a busy one. There are 12 kids scheduled to be here today. Not all at once but coming and going throughout the day. The age range is from 16 months to 12 years old. We will have stories and games and crafts and free play. There will be lots of conversations about all the random things that go through kids minds. There will be cooking and laundry and cleaning and working in the garden. There will be writing and music and reading. There will be diaper changes and potty breaks. There will be laughter and of course a few tears and temper tantrums. There will be more conversations with the parents of the kids about whatever random things happen to be going through our minds - some serious, some funny, some mundane and yet each one a blessing.

I am looking forward to this day and feeling so privileged to be a part of this crazy life we call normal around here.

Let the fun  begin!

  3. I love the early morning quiet, alone time. Unfortunately, I don't see many mornings like that these days. ;-)

Sounds like you have a busy, yet FUN day!

  5. This morning I watched the sun rise and was grateful for the 5:00 AM wakeup call. But only after I saw the sun rise : )
